Biography:
Michael Brostrup (born 15 january 1965) is a danish actor and voice artist, well ESTABLISHED and recognized in theater and film in denmark.
After graduating from Odense National theater school of denmark in 1993, he was an important part of the ensemble at Aalborg theater for more than 15 years. He has played in almost any genre from Classics like Shakespeare (Romeo, in “Romeo and Juliet”) - Ibsen (Helmer in “A Doll’s house”) to Gogol’s “The inspector General” where he played the lead Khlestakov - Aramis in “the 3 musketeers, an open air show presented by the Royal danish national theater - but also in musicals “les Miserables”, “Evita” to comedies and new danish drama.
In 2011 Michael and family moved to copenhagen (where he still is based) and he have had engagements at most of the major theatres in Denmark, in a great variety of both serious and comical roles in the modern as well as the classical repertoire.
Michael had his film debut in 1993 in Erik Clausen movie “Min Fynske Barndom” in 1993 - but after moving to copenhagen, he appeared in several featured film and tv series such as “Afdeling Q” - “BerlinerPoplerne” - “9 april” - “friheden” - “Blekingegade” - “Bron” - and the highly rewarded “Winterbrothers” by Hlynur pálmason.
